Dear students,

Internship is an opportunity provided to you. Including the internship study in your CCR makes this study a Compulsory Internship and provides an advantage in terms of the process and willingness of the companies. Internship is not a burden, it is an opportunity. Thanks to the internship:

  • It provides you with the opportunity to apply the skills you have acquired at our university in the industry,
  • It allows you to get to know the concrete company, type of company (corporate, foreign capital, SME, etc.) or sectors (communication, finance, mobile network operator, etc.) you want to know, within your training.
  • It helps you decide which sector, type of company, or field of expertise you should work in after graduation. In this regard, the knowledge and ideas you gain during your internship will contribute to the selection of elective courses you will take afterwards, the field you want to specialize in, or the amount and direction of effort you will put in while taking the courses.

Paying attention to the following issues when choosing your internship time and place will increase the efficiency you will achieve:

  • You should see the internship process not as an opportunity to gain professional knowledge from the company, but as an opportunity to apply the knowledge you have acquired during the courses and improve your skills based on the problems in practice.
  • You should see the internship process not as an action that needs to be fulfilled, but as an opportunity to contribute to you.
  • You should try to choose an internship that will not conflict with your motivations, but will also be challenging enough to contribute to you.
  • It is a rule that internships take place on consecutive days. For this reason, internships are done during summer vacation. Students who are in their last semester before graduation and are not enrolled in any course at least three days a week can also do an internship by using consecutive days outside of class.
  • You can also do your internship abroad. You can get more detailed information on this subject by contacting the department head or internship manager.
Before Internship (For Application)

After determining the institution where the internship will take place, 4 Internship Application Forms must be filled in, and after being approved by the institution where the internship will be carried out, 2 Passport Photographs and a Photocopy of the Identity Card must be submitted to the department internship officer at the latest 20 days before the internship begins.

During the Internship

You are required to comply with working hours within the 20 days of your internship period. In this regard, the internship supervisor may make possible searches and the cancellation process of the internship work of the person who is not in the company twice is initiated.

Before the internship, the internship report template drafted above must be downloaded and printed in English or Turkish (language selection depends on the student's request). The work done on the relevant day during the internship and its details should be written.

After internship

The student who completes his internship prepares his internship report in accordance with the "Internship Report Preparation Rules" below and submits it to the department internship officer at the latest by the end of the add-drop week of the following semester.

In addition, the first two sections of the "Internship Evaluation Document" ("Information on the Student Doing the Internship" and "Institution of the Internship" must be filled in and submitted to the authorized officer of the institution. The authorized officer of the institution fills out the remaining part of the "Internship Evaluation Document" and delivers the document to the intern in a sealed envelope. This envelope must be included in the internship document without opening it.

Internship evaluation is made within one month at the latest from the submission of the report. As a result of the evaluation, the internship is either accepted, correction is requested, or rejected. Internship documents for which corrections are required must be submitted by the student, after making the necessary corrections, by the course withdrawal date at the latest.

Internship Report Preparation Rules

The internship report is the most important document that will show whether the internship process was successful or not. Therefore, it should be filled out carefully, paying attention to the following points. The person reading the report should be able to have as detailed information as possible about all the processes of the internship and the intern's achievements.

  • The report must be filled out daily at the internship site and approval must be received daily from the internship supervisor with signature and seal.
  • The report can be prepared entirely in English or entirely in Turkish.
  • The report must include an excuse form approved by the company official for each day of absence from work.
  • The report should include the transactions carried out in the workplace and not include explanation of the subject.
  • After the report is completed, it should be prepared in a "spiral bound" manner.
