International Undergraduate Admissions at Işık University

To apply to Işık University as an international student you need to complete and submit an online application form. Applications with missing documents will not be taken into consideration. You should not email or post any documents to the university during the application process.

Required documents to apply online?

  • High school diploma or international exam result, 
  • High school transcript,
  • Photocopy of your passport with identification information (Usually the photograph page),
  • English Language Exam Score Result obtained from examination centers at universities (if available);

Country Requirements

  • For Turkish programs only, the results of the examinations held by the following institutions can be used as a Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate:
     
    • Turkish language centres of universities  
    • TÖMER (minimum B2 level)
    • Yunus Emre Institution
    • Exam centres authorized by YÖK or MEB (Ministry of National Education)

Students who fail to pass the English Proficiency exam at Işık University, must study in the English Preparatory School for a year.

Required Documents to Complete the Registration
  • Acceptance letter received from Işık University,
  • Original High School Diploma/School Leaving Certificate and its notary certified Turkish or English translation,
  • Original Test/Diploma Score such as SAT, ACT, GCE etc. (if in another language rather than Turkish or English, notarized translation should also be submitted.)
  • Original secondary school transcript (if in another language rather than Turkish or English, notarized translation should also be submitted.)
  • Original Language Exam Score,
  • Letter of consent and its notary translation in English is required for the students under 18 years old (if they are unable to come together with their guardians/parents/legal representatives.)
  • Birth certificate and its notary translation in English or Turkish is required for students under 18 years old.
  • Passport copy with identification information and student visa pages,
  • Copy of residence permit card (back and front side) (if available),
  • Proof of payment of university fees,
  • The Equivalency Certificate, which verifies the equivalency of your High School Diploma to a Turkish High School Diploma, can be obtained either from the Turkish Embassy at your home country or from the Ministry of Education in Türkiye. (If available).

Who can apply?

In line with the rules and regulations set by the Council of Higher Education in Türkiye the following conditions are sought for international students applications.

  1. International students,
  2. Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that "Anyone born, either in Türkiye or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen." Candidates who wish to apply within the "applications from abroad" category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law.
  3. Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth; and have gained the citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye / those who hold dual-citizenship,
  4. a)Those who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye and have completed last 3 years of their high school education in another country except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus before 01/02/2013. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

    b) Those who start their high school education after 01/02/2013 in abroad, and completing entire high school education in abroad except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

  5. Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

  1. Those who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye, and have completed their secondary education in Türkiye or in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
  2. Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except those who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),
  3. Those who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in article (A) item.2 above. (except those who have completed their high school education in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/ those who have completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus),
  4. Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except those who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),
  5. Those who hold citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye or dual citizenship, one of which is the citizenship of The Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in article A item.2 above, and who have completed their secondary education at institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Türkiye.
