This course aims to discuss political, social, cultural and economic transformations in the 19th century in their relation with the formation of the Republican Turkey and focuses on the modernization process in the early republican period until 1945.

Systemic and neurological diseases affecting the eye. Drug use, systemic absorption, ocular side effects of drugs. The effects of injuries and violence.

Optical properties of eye and sight. Subjective methods for measuring refraction defects and used ophthalmic instruments. Examination of retinal view. Factors affecting optical resolution. Correction of myopin, hypermetropine, astigmatism and presbyopia with glasses.
