In recent years, the usage area of information technologies in the business world, as in every field, has been constantly expanding. With these developments, the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and practices in the world and in our country is increasing day by day. Management Information Systems (MIS) Program was established to eliminate the manpower deficiency in this field and to train people who will conduct research in this field.

In this program, students are taught business management and information technologies within the framework of an interdisciplinary understanding. One of the objectives of the Management Information Systems Program is to develop information systems for the business world and to train people who will use these systems effectively in management and thus enable the workplace to gain competitive power. For this purpose, students are first taught computer technologies concepts (programming, web design, database management, etc.) and business management concepts (economy, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.). Then, with courses that integrate the two fields, students are provided to learn concepts such as system development, information systems management, electronic commerce, and decision-making mechanisms. With courses supported by laboratories and projects, students' practical skills are developed along with theory. Students who choose this program are expected to be interested in computer technologies and business management. To graduate from this department, the student is required to take 131 credit-hour courses and complete one long internship.
